Our Program

It is the simple good news of the gospel that changes lives.  We believe this with all our hearts.  The team at Pearl of Grace Ranch has tasted and seen that it is true for both ourselves and many others.  We have full confidence that God has called and equipped His staff at Pearl of Grace Ranch to carry that good news into the hearts of struggling teen girls.

Pearl of Grace Ranch is located in Lincoln County, Oklahoma. Over the past two years numerous businesses, volunteers and individual donors have assisted in the renovation of an old school facility into a comfortable, home environment for teen girls in hard places to come and experience healing through the love of Jesus Christ.

We have designed the program at Pearl of Grace Ranch with a multi-faceted, holistic approach:

  • We believe the cutting edge of transformation happens in RELATIONSHIP. The program is all about learning to live in healthy relationships with God and others.  Staff live with the teen girls 24/7 for continuous relationship.  Staff model an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ and invite the teen girls into that same kind of intimacy with their Creator and Redeemer.  Staff build trusting, loving relationships with the teen girls as they walk through each day’s activities together and address each issue as it arises, always teaching, discipling, empowering, and training.
  • A powerful tool to help teen girls develop trusting relationships when they have a history of abuse and betrayal is equine assisted learning EQUINE ASSISTED LEARNING. As the girls are coached to develop a trusting relationship with a battered horse and nurture an abused creature back to emotional health, the parallels and learning to heal human relationships is nothing short of astounding.
  • Pearl of Grace Ranch will teach the girls how to get along with each other. They will live life at the ranch in small groups of eight girls and two staff.  When you live with your answers relationally and can’t get away, the intrinsic motivation to find a solution is very high.
  • Each teen girl will spend a minimum of an hour per week in session with a Christian counselor. This COUNSELING is biblically sound and culturally relevant.
  • Life at the ranch will be very STRUCTURED and GRACE-ORIENTED. Misbehavior is matched with consequences instead of doling out punishment.
  • Periodically the teen girls will plan and go on WILDERNESS TRIPS ranging in length from an overnight trip to a month-long trip. The simplicity and challenge of life in the wilderness has the capacity to create unique learning and healing opportunities.  Setting up tents, cooking over an open fire, working to together to overcome natural obstacles, and basking in nature’s beauty provide unrivaled experiences for growth physically, spiritually, and emotionally.
  • The teen girls are taught to express their emotions in healthy, constructive ways. The staff watch for what is intrinsic to each teen girl and develop her creativity and expressiveness in that area, whether it is writing music, playing an instrument, painting, drawing, sewing, writing or some other CREATIVE EXPRESSION.
  • Each teen girl will be taught BASIC LIFE SKILLS such as planning and cooking a meal, washing and mending her own clothes, balancing a checkbook, and writing a budget.
  • Pearl of Grace Ranch will provide each teen girl with QUALITY CHRISTIAN EDUCATION. It will be tailored to the unique needs and goals of each student.

Programs, even the best ones, can only modify behavior, but they set an environment within which transformative relationships can grow and thrive.  We can have the best program under the sun but when all is said and done, it is the staff and their surrender to the power of the Holy Spirit that will determine the success of the program.  It is inviting these girls into a relationship with the living God that will transform hearts and cause lasting change.  Jesus is the answer to every need, every wound, every place of despair and hopelessness in these girls’ lives.

The hope we offer is that of Hebrews 6:18-19, “It is this hope that we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast.  It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.” And it is in that inner sanctuary with God where transformation happens and abundant life begins.

“It is this hope that we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.”
